Henry Ford was a very smart man who believed in creating cars that the average family could afford. The problem was that he did not have a way to mass produce parts to build cars faster. The parts he used were made in far away factories and he had to pay to ship them to his assembly shop. The sales were dropping and the Ford Company was losing money. Eventually, when he was on the break of closing the factory, he invented the assembly line. With the assembly line, he was able to make more cars in less time, and he could also make the parts he needed in the factory. Sales began to increase and over time Ford became the largest automobile manufacturer in the country.
